Sirohi Goat

Sirohi is an Indian breed of domestic goat.

It is named for its area of origin, the Sirohi District of Rajasthan, in north-western India.

This breed is mainly found in the state of Rajasthan and nearby areas.

It may be described as a dual-purpose breed, reared for both meat and milk production, or as meat breed.
-
The color of the Sirohi breed is brown, white and a mixture of colors in patches and their hair is thick and short.
-
The body of these goats is small and of medium size.
-
These goats have a twisted tail and thick pointed hairs.

This breed has small sized horns and fangs curved upwards and backwards.
-
The average body weight of a goat is about 50-60 kg.
-
Female goat weight about 25 to 40 kg.

Sirohi The birth weight of a child is about 2 to 2.5 kg.

In a year and a half, a child can be born twice. And twins are very common.

Usually, they start bearing babies at the age of 12 to 15 months.

Sirohi goat can give 0.5 to 1.5 liters of milk daily.

Their average lactation yield is 71 kg.
-
And average lactation duration is 175 days.
-
150/kg (female) and live weight of Rs. 175 to 200/kg (male).

Sirohi can adapt itself easily to any climate.
