• The Barbari goat gets its name from Berbera, a coastal city located on the Indian Ocean in Somalia.

• Barbari is a breed of small domestic goat found in a wide area in India and Pakistan.

• It is distributed in the states of Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh in India, and in Punjab and Sindh provinces of Pakistan.

• Barbari is a small domestic goat.

• Barbari is also called Bari.

• Barberi is a small goat of compact form.

• The head is small and neat, with small ears and horns facing upwards.

• The coat is short and usually brownish red with white spots, solid colors are also found.

• Barbari goat breeds are mostly reared for milk and meat.

• A Male goat weighs between 35 - 40 kg.

• Female goat is between 40 - 55 kg.

• Beetle goat can give 0.5 to 1.5  liters of milk per day.

• They can deliver 2 - 3 babies in delivery.
