• Kota Bak is also known as "Karoli"

• It is named after its native region, Kota district of Rajasthan in north-western India.

• These goat breeds are distributed throughout the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat.

• Kota goats are being reared for the production of milk, meat and skin.

• Kota goat skin is popular in tanning industry.

• Kota goat is similar to beetle goat.

• Basically, Kota goats are large sized animals with long legs.

• The coat color of the Kota goat is predominantly black with white spots on the ears and muzzle.

• Some white, brown and speckled goats are also found.

• The body of the Kota goat is covered with thick hairs which are short and coarse.

• Kota goats have long flat hooked ears which are about 24-25 cm long.

• The horns of both the male and the female are turned upward and backward.

• The average birth weight of a Kota goat is about 1.5 to 2.0 kg.

• Kota goats give birth to 1 baby and twins make up about 40%.

• Kota goat can give 1 to 2  liters of milk daily.

• Totapuri goat breeds are mostly reared for the production of milk, meat, skin.
